Flexing the barbell strategy to balance Safe Havens with more cyclical exposures. In our view, industrials investors should be positioning their portfolio with a barbell strategy, with half of the exposure in Safe Havens like General Electric, Xylem (XYL), Danaher, Honeywell International, Roper Technologies (ROP), and AMETEK (AME), and the other half selectively in the cyclical names that are better positioned today, such as Pentair, HD Supply Holdings (HDS),Actuant (ATU), Atkore International Group (ATKR), Ingersoll-Rand, and Eaton (ETN). We still believe risk-reward is mostly balanced and that the macro will remain choppy into 2017, supporting a positioning in the defensive names. But if investor sentiment improves on not-worse news and earnings results, the more cyclical names could fare better.

Top 10 Clean Energy Stocks To Buy For 2018: Uni-Pixel, Inc.(UNXL)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Peter Graham]

Small cap sensor film stock UniPixel Inc (NASDAQ: UNXL) is sinking by a double digit percentage in after-hours and pre-market trading after reporting Q4 earnings. The problem for UniPixel is that only a few analysts cover the small cap stock and the bottom line loss was a bit worst than the 10 cent loss they were expecting. The stock also had a slight uptick ahead of earnings:

  • [By Roberto Pedone]

Uni-Pixel (UNXL) manufactures electronic film products using its proprietary manufacturing process, UniBoss. This stock closed up 7.6% to $16.84 in Monday’s trading session.

    Monday’s Volume: 1.88 million

    Three-Month Average Volume: 1 million

    Volume % Change: 108%

From a technical perspective, UNXL bounced sharply higher here right off its 50-day moving average of $15.89 with above-average volume. This stock looks to be forming a double bottom chart pattern at $14.91 to $15.16. If that bottom holds, then shares of UNXL could see a continuation of Monday’s upside action.

Traders should now look for long-biased trades in UNXL as long as it’s trending above $15.16 or $14.91 and then once it sustains a move or close above Monday’s high of $17.53 with volume that hits near or above 1 million shares. If we get that move soon, then UNXL will set up to re-test or possibly take out its next major overhead resistance level at its 200-day moving average of $19.89.

  • [By Lisa Levin]

Shares of UniPixel Inc (NASDAQ: UNXL) were down 22 percent to $1.63 after the company announced a public offering of newly issued shares of stock. UniPixel plans to offer 5.35 million shares of its own stock at a public offering price of $1.50 per share with the option for its underwriters to purchase up to an additional 802,500 shares.

list of penny stocks: Huntington Ingalls Industries, Inc.(HII)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By WWW.MONEYSHOW.COM]

Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) is the largest repairer and ship builder for the U.S. Navy and U.S. coast guard, giving the company a near monopoly on these government contracts (which is why their return on equity is north of 27%).

As details about the Pentagon’s plan have emerged, it’s become clear that this will be a sizable program, amounting to perhaps $1 trillion in spending over 30 years — not just to upgrade the Minuteman missiles, but also to buy new B-21 stealth bombers from Northrop Grumman (NYSE:NOC)and have General Dynamics (NYSE:GD) and Huntington Ingalls (NYSE:HII) design an entirely new class of ballistic missile submarines (to be known as the “Columbia class.”)

list of penny stocks: EPR Properties(EPR)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Laurie Kulikowski]

EPR PROPERTIES has improved earnings per share by 11.8% in the most recent quarter compared to the same quarter a year ago. This company has reported somewhat volatile earnings recently. But, we feel it is poised for EPS growth in the coming year. During the past fiscal year, EPR PROPERTIES reported lower earnings of $2.78 versus $3.13 in the prior year. This year, the market expects an improvement in earnings ($2.91 versus $2.78).

  • [By Laurie Kulikowski]

Net operating cash flow has increased to $64.42 million or 19.61% when compared to the same quarter last year. The firm also exceeded the industry average cash flow growth rate of 9.39%.

The gross profit margin for EPR PROPERTIES is currently very high, coming in at 73.12%. Regardless of EPR’s high profit margin, it has managed to decrease from the same period last year. Despite the mixed results of the gross profit margin, EPR’s net profit margin of 46.18% significantly outperformed against the industry.

  • [By Laurie Kulikowski]

We rate EPR PROPERTIES as a Buy with a ratings score of B. This is driven by a number of strengths, which we believe should have a greater impact than any weaknesses, and should give investors a better performance opportunity than most stocks we cover. The company’s strengths can be seen in multiple areas, such as its revenue growth, increase in net income, good cash flow from operations, expanding profit margins and growth in earnings per share. Although the company may harbor some minor weaknesses, we feel they are unlikely to have a significant impact on results.

  • [By Laurie Kulikowski]

EPR’s revenue growth has slightly outpaced the industry average of 6.1%. Since the same quarter one year prior, revenues slightly increased by 9.7%. This growth in revenue appears to have trickled down to the company’s bottom line, improving the earnings per share.

  • [By Laurie Kulikowski]

EPR’s investment pipeline should drive about 6-7% earnings growth in 2016, and historically the company’s dividend growth has roughly equated to earnings growth. Starting with an above-average 6.5% yield, we find this compelling for income-oriented investors.

  • [By Laurie Kulikowski]

The company, on the basis of net income growth from the same quarter one year ago, has significantly outperformed against the S&P 500 and exceeded that of the Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) industry average. The net income increased by 17.5% when compared to the same quarter one year prior, going from $42.71 million to $50.20 million.

AquaVenture (NYSE:WAAS) has advanced nearly 16% since the firm’s IPO on October 5, 2016, but the water-as service provider will likely face significant headwinds in the year ahead.

While we noted that the longer-term picture is positive for WAAS in both our IPO Preview coverage and our more recent quiet period piece, WAAS faces notable challenges in the short term with significant operating losses and the IPO lockup expiration on the horizon in April.

Water, Water Everywhere

WAAS came to market at a time when concerns about the future of potable drinking water were at the forefront of the news cycle. As concerns about pipelines out West and global warming appeared to make this an on-trend offering, it’s important to remember that WAAS isn’t the first firm to popularize the water-as-service theme – and not all of these offerings have managed to hold investors’ attention.

In covering WAAS I was acutely reminded of a raft of “water ETFs” that I cov ered back in 2010. At that time several new water ETFs had made a splash in the marketplace: the equal weighted First Trust ISE Water Index Fund (NYSEARCA:FIW) and the PowerShares Water Resources Portfolio (NASDAQ:PHO), alongside the Claymore S&P Global Water Index ETF (NYSEARCA:CGW) and PowerShares Global Water Resources Portfolio (NASDAQ:PIO). While all four of these ETFs are still in existence, average daily trading volume is anemic in all but FIW – and so anemic in PIO as to almost make the fund nearly untradeable. I mention these ETFs only to underscore that the theme of water investments is not a new one, and it has not been one that has particularly piqued the interest of investors in the ETF space.

Donald Trump has added a level risk for stock pickers that didn’t exist before his election: The random tweet. Lockheed Martin (LMT) and its price F-35 fighter jet have been a target of his ire, as well as high drug prices. Now he’s turning his attention to General Motors (GM), which sold off earlier this morning after Trump tweeted that the U.S. automaker should produce its Chevy Cruze in the U.S. or pay the price. Shares of General Motors, however, have rallied back into positive territory this afternoon. CFRA Research’s Efraim Levy explains why:

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Dan Caplinger]

The stock market kept performing well on Monday, and the Dow Jones Industrials posted its 12th straight all-time record high. Market sentiment was sunny following the release of Warren Buffett’s annual shareholder letter over the weekend, and the Oracle of Omaha made positive comments about the sustainability of the current bull market, which was able to overcome early declines in the major market benchmarks. However, some stocks didn’t fare as well as the overall market, and Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA), AmTrust Financial Services (NASDAQ:AFSI), and Horizon Pharma (NASDAQ:HZNP) were among the worst performers on the day. Below, we’ll look more closely at these stocks to tell you why they did so poorly.
